Flamenco with a Fan - original oil pastel figurative painting

Oil pastel on black paper is one of my favorite things - the black adds impact to the painting, I think.  This paper is Stonehenge - one of the great printmaking and drawing papers and with a great tooth for oil pastel.  It's not at all gritty, but holds the oil pastel very well.  I tore a big piece of Stonehenge into smaller ones - this one is about 14 x 10".   One thing I've discovered - when you get oil pastel where you don't want it on the black paper, charcoal works well to smooth over it.  Thanks for stopping by!
