Tango Sketch - original oil pastel figurative sketch

One of my favorite tango poses and it's not "finished", so it's a double love.  This drawing is on 7 x 5" Pastelbord.  Thanks for looking!

I really like this one - the brisk movement and intertwining lines of the limbs of the dancers. I want to ask you, in this one piece and in other ones, do you work from a photo ever? or do you always do a quick sketch from the scene? Thanks.

Hi there and thanks for stopping by! Many times I have no choice but to work from a photo, but every chance I get, I work from life. For instance, this past summer, I attended a country dance that was huge - many many subjects from whom I could work, and did, but I also relied on lots of photos. I would be in the midst of drawing - very quickly - one couple dancing by and another would come into view and I would stop drawing the first one and photograph the second one. It was like a banquet!
